David Tennant - W1A
W1A is a BBC Two series which is narrated by David Tennant and written by John Morton who also wrote Twenty Twelve.
W1A follows on from the highly successful Olympic's preparations comedy satire Twenty Twelve which starred Hugh Bonneville, Jessica Hynes and Olivia Colman and was also narrated by David Tennant.
W1A (named after the BBC Broadcasting House postcode) again stars Hugh Bonneville as Ian Fletcher but this time he is Head of Values. Jessica Hynes appears as Siobhan Sharpe Brand BBC Consultant, Sarah Parrish as Anna Rampton Head of Output and Nina Sosanya as producer Lucy Freeman.
David Tennant is the comic narrator in the same style as he did for Twenty Twelve.
The first series of W1A started on Wednesday 19th March 2014 on BBC Two at 10pm.
The description of the series is:
Upon arrival, Ian feels that there is something very exciting about the BBC and that he is now at the centre of something genuinely important. The really exciting thing is to think that part of his job is to try to establish where that centre is and also exactly what it is in the centre of.'
A second series was filmed from January 2015 and was broadcast from Thursday 23rd April 2015 at 9pm on BBC Two.
A DVD of both series of W1A was released on DVD in the UK on Monday 18th May.
The third series (which was increased to 6 episodes) started on Monday 18th September 2017 at 10pm on BBC Two.
W1A Series Three DVD and a first to third series combination DVD was released in October 2017.
