David Tennant at National Television Awards 2015

David Tennant attended the National Television Awards at the O2 Arena in London officially to present an award with Olivia Colman.
However, after presenting the award and when he was sitting in the audience, David was surprised by being presented himself with the Special Recognition Award.
After a lovely video of various people complimenting David's acting, talent and personality, David gave a moving speech to accept the award. The video included Billie Piper, Olivia Colman, Russell T Davies, Richard Wilson, Stephen Fry, Catherine Tate and his father. the clip included clips of a plethora of David's television roles including Doctor Who, Broadchurch, Hamlet, Casanova, Single Father, Spies Of Warsaw and The Politician's Husband.
The introduction to the clip and the award was presented by David's favourite band The Proclaimers.
