The format of the show was that the interviewee becomes the interviewer of the following show.

On Thursday 21st February 2008 the programme was Catherine Tate interviewing David Tennant about his career and then on Thursday 28th February 2008 was the premiere of the show when David interviewed Richard Wilson.

In the final two episodes of Series Four of Chain Reaction Richard Wilson interviewed Arabella Weir and then Arabella Weir interviewed Paul Whitehouse.
