As well as David, the celebrity line up included Jeremy Irons, Sinéad Cusack, Jane Asher, Christopher Biggins, Katy Brand, Patricia Hodge and Freddie Jones. It was hosted by Rory Bremner.

The revue covered the last 80 years and the story of the venue itself from its pre-Second World War origins to the present day.

The black tie occasion featured singing, dancing, acting and comedy. All proceeds went to the Playhouse Trust.

An after-party, hosted by the Macdonald Randolph hotel, took place following the two hour gala.
