David Tennant - Spy In The Wild David Tennant is the narrator of the John Downer Productions Spy series which was broadcast in the UK early in 2017. The 5 part series was called Spy In The Wild and the first episode was broadcast on BBC One on Thursday 12th January at 8pm with a repeat the following Sunday afternoon. The BBC press release described Spy In The Wild as: 'In one of the most innovative natural history series ever presented, Spy In The Wild deploys over 30 ultra-realistic animatronic 'Spy Creatures' to go undercover in the animal world, filming their unique behaviour closer than ever before.' Previously David Tennant has narrated the nature series Earthflight, Penguins: Spy In The Huddle, Dolphins: Spy In The Pod and Pets Wild At Heart for John Downer Productions which specialises in utilising 'spy-cams' which means cameras can get right into the centre of animals' habitats. The BBC held a press screening for Spy In The Wild on Thursday 8th December in London. David Tennant has also narrated Series Two of Spy In The Wild. The first of four episodes premiered on BBC One on Wednesday 22nd January 2020 at 9pm. The first series of Spy In The Wild was released on DVD and Blu-ray on Monday 20th March 2017 in the UK. Its initial broadcast in the US was on Wednesday 1st February on PBS but David does not narrate the US broadcast. However his narration is on the US DVD release.
