David Tennant voiced the character of Angus the bull in Ferdinand which was produced by 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios. It was released in the US on Friday 15th December 2017 and in the UK on Saturday 16th December. It was released in the US on digital streaming on Tuesday 27th February 2018 and on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD on Tuesday 13th March 2018. It was released on DVD in the UK on Monday 16th April.

Ferdinand was nominated (but did not win) the Animated Feature Oscar in 2018.
Even before the movie was released, Ferdinand was nominated for two Golden Globes Awards. The movie was nominated (although unfortunately did not win) for the Best Animated Feature Film Award and the title song for the Best Original Song - Motion Picture Award.

This weekend in the US it took $11.7 million ($15.2 million for the four days) and has grossed $53.8 million after three weeks. Overseas Ferdinand brought in $23.1 million from 64 markets to take its international total to $71.9 million and worldwide total to $125.7 million, with 21 more markets to come in January.
