David Tennant in Single Father David Tennant filmed a 4 part drama for BBC Scotland in Glasgow. He filmed it from March until May 2010. David played Dave who was a man whose world comes crashing down when his wife Rita dies. He has to raise his children single-handedly but things get more complicated when he falls for his late wife's best pal Sarah. David was quoted in the press release as saying "I feel very lucky to have been sent this script. When I read what Mick Ford had written I was desperate to be part of this project." Single Father was screened on four consecutive Sunday evenings starting 10th October 2010 at 9pm on BBC1. 2014 Daily Record reports some lovely words about David Tennant from producer Donald 'Bovy' MacKinnon. Talking about working with David on Single Father, he said "He was amazing to work with as he’s always 100 per cent on the job. He was fantastic to work with, and so good at what he does. June 2011 David Tennant is in the final round of the TV Choice Awards for Best Actor for his performance in Single Father. The drama has also got through to the final round for the Best New Drama Award. Click here to vote and here for an article in The Scotsman about the awards. Voting ends at midnight on Friday 8th July. Winners will be announced on 13th September and there does not appear to be a limit to how many times you can vote but just remember to click the "submit vote" button right at the end for your vote to count. January 2011 Apparently Single Father was mentioned on Radio 2 today as Richard Madeley was asking for choices for the National Television Awards. May 2010 Neve McIntosh confirms in this interview that David Tennant has finished filming Single Father. (He had been spotted a couple of times in London during this past week.)
